Yes. You do not specify where in the bath. If it is in the shower area, demolish the walls down to the studs and staple up plastic as a vapor barrier. Over this screw up 1/2'; cement board as per manufacturers specs. Set the tiles in thinset mortar onto the cement board using a 1/4 square notched trowel to spread the mortar. After 24 hrs, grout the tile.





There are a lot more specifics to this, techniques and tips, but this is the bare bones outline. Floor tiles in the bath are a whole different animal. It helps to know what you are doing to tackle a job like this. I've done several, and I can say with confidence that my floor tiles are rock solid and will outlast the house. I've seen or heard of people who have set their own tiles only to have them crack or work loose and pop up in a week or two.





I would bet that most people working at Lowe's or Home Depot have never done jobs like this and really don't know all the specifics. You have to know about underlayments and curing mortar, and here is where most people opt for the cheapest, fastest way, which also happens to be the way guaranteed to have your floor fall apart in no time.

place on tile,


it the same for floors, but you got to use a 1/4 inch trowel,


once they have set ,maybe in about 8 hours,you may grout,


then wash of the excess, vip or you will never get it off,
